A practical gram-scale and high-yielding synthesis of the antimicrobial peptide gramicidin S is presented. An Fmoc-based solid-phase peptide synthesis protocol is employed for the generation of the linear decapeptide precursor, which is cyclized in solution to afford the target compound. The versatility of our method is demonstrated by the construction of eight gramicidin S analogues (15a-h) having nonproteinogenic sugar amino acid residues (4-7) incorporated in the turn regions.  相似文献

The sustainable development of agricultural waste is nowadays a main strategy in producing neutral CO2 energy and metal removal technologies. In Egypt, large amounts of rice straw are annually burnt in the open air causing severe air pollution that could be directed to co-firing and adsorption technologies. On bench scale, rice straw was positively contributed in a clean and smokeless co-firing process with methanol due to the oxidizing effect of the alcohol. The co-firing temperature control is vital to develop the adsorptive character of the residual ash and to avoid prolonged time needed to improve the physical properties of the rice straw if applied directly as a biosorbent. The consumed methanol in the process ranges from 0.15 to 0.3 liter per each kg of straw depending on its compaction. The grossed heat value from such process may drive steam generator for electricity. The residual ash was subsequently cross-linked in uranium and heavy metals adsorption tests from solutions. The porous texture of the residual ash and the amorphous nature of the silica along with potassium content provide a suitable condition for uranium immobilization especially if phosphorus or vanadium exist. The resulted chemical precipitate is analogues in composition to meta-ankoleite (KUO2PO4·3H2O) or hydrated carnotite (K2(UO2)2V2O8)·1-3H2O respectively. The XRD data of the latter form show an enhancement in crystallinity of the amorphous precipitate with the heated samples.  相似文献

Selective protection of one of the hydroxyl group in 1,n-symmetrical diols is achieved by P_2O_2/SiO_2-catalyzed reaction of the diol with dihydropyran under solvent-free conditions at room temperature.This selective protection is simple and it occurred under economically cheap conditions in high yield.The deprotected diol is simply obtained by refluxing of this compound in methanol using the same catalyst without any byproduct formation or additional purifications.  相似文献

We study the question: For which (r,n) can a linear r-field on the (n-1)-sphere in an n-dimensional real linear space be deformed through a continuous path of linear r-fields into an orthonormal r-field. We provide complete answers for the cases: (r,n)=(2,4),(3,4), and provide several partial results for the cases (r,n)=(2,2m), where m is an even integer satisfying m4. Auditory resolution of moving sound sources was determined in a simulated motion paradigm for sources traveling along horizontal, vertical, or oblique orientations in the subjects's frontal plane. With motion restricted to the horizontal orientation, minimum audible movement angles (MAMA) ranged from about 1.7 degrees at the lowest velocity (1.8 degrees/s) to roughly 10 degrees at the highest velocity (320 degrees/s). With the sound moving along an oblique orientation (rotated 45 degrees relative to the horizontal) MAMAs generally matched those of the horizontal condition. When motion was restricted to the vertical, MAMAs were substantially larger at all velocities (often exceeding 8 degrees). Subsequent tests indicated that MAMAs are a U-shaped function of velocity, with optimum resolution obtained at about 2 degrees/s for the horizontal (and oblique) and 7-11 degrees/s for the vertical orientation. Additional tests conducted at a fixed velocity of 1.8 degrees/s along oblique orientations of 80 degrees and 87 degrees indicated that even a small deviation from the vertical had a significant impact on MAMAs. A displacement of 10 degrees from the vertical orientation (a slope of 80 degrees) was sufficient to reduce thresholds (obtained at a velocity of 1.8 degrees/s) from about 11 degrees to approximately 2 degrees (a fivefold increase in acuity). These results are in good agreement with our previous study of minimum audible angles long oblique planes [Perrott and Saberi, J. Acoust. Soc. Silica-bonded S-sulfonic acid (SBSSA) is employed as a recyclable catalyst for the condensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes with 3-methyl-l-phenyl-5-pyrazolone. This condensation reaction was performed in ethanol under refluxing conditions giving 4,4′-alkylmethylene-bis(3-methyl-5-pyrazolones) in 75-90% yields.  相似文献
